Picnshow Privacy Policy

At Picnshow we believe in keeping things simple and clear. This extends to our privacy policy.

As long-time Internet users ourselves we understand the importance of privacy. Any information submitted to this site will not be shared with any third parties. Ever. This includes names, email addresses, statistics, and photographs. And we will not share customer billing information with any third party except for the purposes of processing credit card payments.

Of course the law and common sense dictate some exceptions. These include requests by users that our support staff access their accounts in order to diagnose problems; when Picnshow is required by law to do so; and when we reasonably believe that it is necessary in order to protect the rights, property and safety of Picnshow, its users and the public.

How To Keep Your Pictures Private

Picnshow has been created with privacy foremost in our minds. Still, the point of creating a slide show of your photographs is to let your friends and family see them.

So how does Picnshow balance the need to protect your privacy, yet still allow easy viewing by your family and friends? The following points outline the main features that you should be aware of when it comes to protecting your privacy:

  1. As mentioned above in our privacy policy, Picnshow will not publish any information about you, your slide shows or your email address on the publicly visible portion of our web-site. Nor will any of this information be shared by us with other Picnshow users or any third-parties except as noted above.
  2. When you create your account with Picnshow you will choose a password. This, along with your email address, allows you to log in to the editor and create, edit and preview your shows. You can also change your password at any time. Like any account on the Internet its security depends on keeping your password private. When you choose or change your password ensure it is at least 8 characters long and made up of upper and lower case letters; including numbers and symbols can also improve its security. If you'd like to learn more about passwords on the Internet you could start with this article on Wikipedia.
  3. Any slide show you create will have a unique, randomly generated identifier. This identifier is 16 characters long and virtually impossible for anyone to guess. This makes it extremely unlikely that anyone would be able to guess the address to view any of the shows hosted by Picnshow.
  4. Of course you will know what the show identifier is, along with the complete link address to the show. This link can be emailed to your family or friends when you want to present the show to them. This link allows anyone to view the show, so be careful about who you send the link to. Additionally you can ask your friends and family to keep the link private. So to be very clear about this, once you start sending a show link around it is only as private as you, your friends and your family keep it. If need be this link can be regenerated at any time in order to make your show private again.
  5. If you decide you do not want to share some of your photos online, deleting photos and even entire slide shows is as easy as creating them. But be aware that we do not permanently store deleted photos on our servers.
